02Starting point & goal

From selling assets to a digital product.

Energiekonzepte Deutschland sells and installs energy assets for private households. Without an own digital product the customer relationship ends with installation, and components from different manufacturers work side by side instead of together. The goal was a system in which a new device generation does not trigger a new project.

  • Reliably connect components from different manufacturers
  • Keep states and readings robust at quarter-hour resolution
  • Control consumption ahead of time and explainably
  • Make market prices available as a control variable
  • Give customers a product they can operate without training

03Price signal

Price becomes a control variable.

In its day-ahead auction the EPEX SPOT exchange sets a price for every quarter-hour of the next day. With plenty of solar and wind power and low demand, prices fall sharply, sometimes to zero or below. AMPERE.IQ charges the storage in exactly these windows.

Response

0 ct

On sunny days with low demand, negative exchange prices are not unusual.

Compatible with dynamic tariffs

Since 2025 every German electricity supplier must offer a dynamic tariff to households with a smart metering system (§ 41a EnWG). AMPERE.IQ works with tariffs that follow the exchange price.

Prerequisite

Smart meter gateway

No smart metering system, no dynamic tariff. Only with one does price-based control pay off.

04Application

Energy with one swipe.

The app shows generation, consumption, state of charge, the price curve and the weather forecast. And it shows what the energy manager decided and why.

AMPERE.IQ

Low-price charging window

From 13:00 the exchange price drops to 2.3 ct/kWh. Storage charges automatically.
